Characteristics of Kasumi Fujimura's Works

Kasumi Fujimura, a ceramist based in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, creates her pieces with the desire to make tableware that can be used often in daily life, always by your side.

Kasumi Fujimura's works are striking for their contrasting beauty: pristine white "utsuwa" (tableware) and bronze-colored "utsuwa". The white "utsuwa" are created with the intention of "matching any dish," featuring simple and elegant designs that highlight the food. On the other hand, the bronze plates were born from a request at a local izakaya, and their tasteful color makes them suitable for everyday use.

Common to both series is Kasumi Fujimura's warm desire for users to "cherish them and use them frequently, allowing them to become a part of their daily lives."

Kasumi Fujimura's "Tableware Always By Your Side."

"Tableware that can be used often in daily life, always by your side." With this sentiment, Kasumi Fujimura's "utsuwa" are meticulously handcrafted one by one. Underlying this is her unique dedication, including deep knowledge gained through Chinese tea ceremonies.

Kasumi Fujimura's ceramics, whose charm is further enhanced by daily use, harmonize with any dish and become cherished items with each use.
