Yutaro Yamada's Teapots Utilizing the Characteristics of Tokoname Ware
Yutaro Yamada's teapots are characterized by their sophisticated design, which cherishes the tradition of Tokoname ware while incorporating a modern sensibility. The moment you pick one up, you'll be surprised by its lightness and exquisite craftsmanship. The thinly and lightly finished teapots offer an astonishingly comfortable fit, and the feeling of them conforming to your hand is almost as if they are an extension of your own hand.
Yutaro Yamada's teapots exquisitely balance practicality and beauty. The shape of the spout, the placement of the handle, and the comfortable feel you experience every time you use it all contribute to the special charm of his work. These teapots, beautiful to behold, reveal their true allure when actually held in your hand — such are his creations.
Tokoname ware is known for its red clay and highly translucent glaze. Yutaro Yamada utilizes this Tokoname red clay, cherishing the warmth that emanates from the earth. Using this clay, his teapots exude a warmth that allows you to truly relax when you hold them. The rustic texture inherent in the earth and the soft quality visible after firing envelop the user.
Furthermore, Yutaro Yamada has developed his own unique glazes, maximizing the characteristics of Tokoname ware glazes while incorporating new sensibilities. As a result, his teapots emit a captivating luster and possess a beautiful texture as if time has stood still. The glossy brilliance of the glaze allows you to appreciate its beauty every time you use it.
