Characteristics of Kasumi Fujimura's Works

Kasumi Fujimura is a ceramic artist based in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. She creates her "utensils" with the desire that they be used frequently in daily life and always be by one's side.

Kasumi Fujimura's works are notable for the contrasting beauty of her pure white "utensils" and bronze-colored "utensils." The white "utensils" are crafted with the intention of "matching any dish," featuring simple and elegant designs that enhance the food. The bronze plates, on the other hand, were born from a request at a local izakaya and possess an attractive rustic color suitable for everyday use.

Common to both series is Kasumi Fujimura's warm desire for people to "cherish them and use them freely, allowing them to be a part of their daily lives."

Kasumi Fujimura's "Utensils" - Always By Your Side

With the desire to create "utensils that can be used frequently in daily life and are always by your side," Kasumi Fujimura's "utensils" are meticulously handcrafted one by one. Behind this philosophy are deep insights gained through Chinese tea ceremonies and other unique sensibilities of Kasumi Fujimura.

Kasumi Fujimura's vessels, which truly shine when used at the everyday dining table, harmonize with any dish and inspire a deeper affection with each use.
