Yutaro Yamada's Kyusu, Utilizing the Characteristics of Tokoname Ware

Yutaro Yamada's kyusu are characterized by sophisticated designs that, while valuing the tradition of Tokoname ware, incorporate a modern sensibility. The moment you pick one up, you'll be surprised by its lightness and precision. The light and thinly crafted kyusu offers an astonishingly comfortable fit, and its familiar feel in the hand seems like an extension of your own.

Yutaro Yamada's kyusu beautifully harmonize practicality and aesthetics. The shape of the spout, the placement of the handle, and the comfortable sensation experienced with each use give his works a special charm. These are pieces where a beautiful kyusu, seen from afar, reveals even greater charm when actually held in your hand.

Tokoname ware is known for its red clay and highly translucent glazes. Yutaro Yamada utilizes this Tokoname red clay, cherishing the warmth that comes from the earth. Using this clay, his kyusu exude a warmth that allows you to truly relax when held. The natural, rustic texture of the clay and the soft feel visible after firing envelop the user.

Furthermore, Yutaro Yamada has developed his own unique glazes, maximizing the characteristics of Tokoname ware glazes while incorporating a new sensibility. As a result, his kyusu exhibit a luster that captivates the viewer and possess a beautiful texture as if time has stopped. The glossy brilliance of the glaze makes you feel its beauty with every use.

Tokoname Ware Works with Lightness, Precision, and Beauty
