Artist Yutaro Yamada - Modern Teapots Utilizing the Characteristics of Tokoname Ware

Born in 1982 in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, a region long known for its teapots. His family business is also pottery manufacturing. In 2010, he graduated from the Ceramic Arts Department of Tokoname High School. In 2014, he studied architecture at Daido University, moving away from pottery. After a brief employment, he quickly returned to the world of pottery. In 2017, he completed his studies at the Tokoname Ceramic Art Research Institute. At the same time, he became independent as an artist specializing in teapots and other tea ceremony utensils, separate from his family business.
