Artist Yutaro Yamada - Modern Teapots Utilizing the Characteristics of Tokoname Ware

Born in 1982 in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, an area long known for teapot production, his family also runs a pottery business. In 2010, he graduated from the Ceramic Arts Department of Tokoname High School. In 2014, he studied architecture at Daido University, moving away from pottery. After a brief period of employment, he returned to the world of pottery. In 2017, he completed his studies at Tokoname Tou no Mori Ceramic Research Institute. At the same time, he became independent as a craftsman of teaware, including teapots, separate from the family business.
