Artist Yutaro Yamada - Modern teapots utilizing the characteristics of Tokoname ware

Born in 1982 in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, a region long known for its teapots. His family business is also pottery manufacturing. In 2010, he graduated from Tokoname High School's Ceramic Arts department. In 2014, he studied architecture at Aichi Prefectural University, moving away from ceramics. After a temporary job, he quickly returned to the world of pottery. In 2017, he completed his studies at the Tokoname Ceramic Art Research Institute. At the same time, he became independent as a craftsman of teapots and other tea ceremony utensils, separate from his family business.
